1. Check that Siri is turned on
Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri. Make sure "Listen for" is set to "Siri" or "Hey Siri", and that Press Side Button for Siri is on.
2. Retrain your voice
Turn "Listen for" off, then on again, and repeat the setup phrases in a quiet room.
3. Check Low Power Mode and face-down
"Hey Siri" may not answer when your iPhone is face down or covered. Low Power Mode can also delay it.
4. Check the internet connection
Many requests need Wi-Fi or mobile data. Try a simple offline command like "set a timer for 1 minute" to test.
5. Clean the microphones
Remove the case and gently clear the mic openings at the bottom, near the camera and by the earpiece.
6. Check Screen Time restrictions
Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → Allowed Apps. Make sure Siri & Dictation is allowed.
7. Restart and update
Restart your device, then install the latest update in Settings → General → Software Update.
8. HomePod not responding
Check that Listen for "Hey Siri" is on in the Home app, and that the HomePod is on the same Wi-Fi as your iPhone.
9. AirPods not responding
Make sure AirPods are connected and that Siri is allowed in Bluetooth settings for that pair.
